What is Patient Voice?
EMAS Patient Voice is led by volunteers. The group is chaired by the Senior Head of Quality and supported by Vice-Chair and patient representative John Crouch.
The group meets every two months, either face-to-face or virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Three subgroups also meet every two months. The subgroups focus on local issues in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire; Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire; and Lincolnshire.
The aims of EMAS Patient Voice
- Give the patient perspective on EMAS' operations, policies and procedures.
- Help EMAS to develop patient-friendly services.
- Act as the link between patients and the EMAS Board.
- Be ambassadors for EMAS by providing information about EMAS' services in their local areas.
- Visit various parts of our service including ambulance stations and our Emergency Operations Centres (control rooms) and engage with patients and staff when possible and appropriate.
EMAS Patient Voice submits regular reports to our Quality Governance Committee and Patient Experience Team.
