It is with great sadness that we must share with you the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, following an official announcement from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.
Richard Henderson, Chief Executive of East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust said:
“On behalf of the whole of East Midlands Ambulance Service, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Royal Family at this very sad time.
“A number of colleagues at EMAS have had the privilege to meet His Royal Highness for the exemplary work and commitment they have shown to the ambulance service.
“As a mark of respect, we will be opening a number of Condolence books across the region for our staff to sign and our flags will be flown at half-mast.”
We will continue to support and work with our partners to meet the additional needs of the public and our workforce during the period of mourning and to provide support to our staff if they require it.
