Earlier this year two presenters, Dr Chris Van Tulleken and Dr Xand Van Tulleken, from the BBC Children’s programme Operation Ouch visited EMAS for a day to learn how to drive an ambulance and how to take a 999 call for someone who was unconscious.

This was a good opportunity to share some key messages with a younger audience about what an emergency is, and what children should do if they need to ring 999. The first episode also features a story from a young girl who called 999 for her sister.

The programmes aired on Monday 21 November and Wednesday 30 November.
