EMAS has been awarded its reaccreditation of the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award, which recognises our ambulance service's contribution to supporting current and former members of the Armed Forces.

The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the Armed Forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

The prestigious award recognises our ambulance service’s contribution and commitment to supporting both current and former members of the Armed Forces – veterans, families, reservists and cadet instructors – and being a valued employer of choice for those leaving the military.

EMAS Armed Forces Network Lead Kevin Thorne and Deputy Medical Director Mark Folman attended the awards dinner at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln on 13 October 2022 to accept the award on behalf of EMAS.

The event saw Silver Awards presented to 26 recipients from the public and private sector, and took place in the presence of The Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.

We are honoured to receive such a prestigious award, that recognises the support we give to our Armed Forces community, and are now beginning the process to build on this success to move onto working towards the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme’s Gold Award.
