We’re introducing 54 brand new Peugeot Boxer ambulances to our non-emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) in Derbyshire as part of our on-going commitment to replace older vehicles with more modern ones when required.
This shows our ongoing commitment to developing the service to ensure the level of care we provide remains outstanding for the communities we serve.
Our latest investment in the PTS fleet in Derbyshire ensures that EMAS remains fit for the future
What are some of the new features?
These newer ambulances provide a smooth and pleasant journey to both our patients and staff thanks to new state of the art rear suspension, along with improved handling for the driver of the vehicle. This means that the vehicles respond well to different traffic conditions.
Following feedback from our staff, a number of changes have been made to minimise physical exertion and maximises the efficiency of our equipment to help enhance the journey for our patients.
One of the replacement vehicles to be introduced further down the line will be specifically designed with reasonable adjustments to help transport bariatric patients to and from their hospital appointments in both a safe and dignified manner.
James Oldham, Performance Delivery Manager for NEPTS said: “We are always looking to improve the quality of our vehicles for our patients and staff by constantly listening to feedback.
“Safety, comfort and practicality are our main priorities for both staff and patients alike.”
