EMAS is providing emergency medical support at the 35thLincoln Christmas Market, the largest event in Lincolnshire.

The Christmas market runs from Thursday to Sunday and attracts crowds of over a quarter of a million.

The British Red Cross are the contracted medical provider for market; however EMAS provides paramedic cover to support the British Red Cross first aiders.

This year Lincolnshire Paramedics Mike Cooksley and Laurie Askin and Hazardous Area Response Team Paramedics Sonia Jones and Nick Sokala are on hand to help patients.

After the recent terror attacks this year in Europe and the UK additional security has been put in place for visitor’s safety. Our colleagues at Lincolnshire Police are putting on extra patrolling officers to reassure the public.

Nick Sentance, Divisional Resilience Manager said: “I am Proud to be leading the team of paramedics keeping everyone safe
“Along with the organisers and the other emergency services, our one desire is that everyone enjoys a successful and safe market.”
