East Midland Ambulance Service has been awarded the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The Gold Award is the highest achievement for organisations who support and advocate for the Armed Forces community, including Reservists, Service Leavers, Cadets, Cadet Volunteers, Military Spouses, and Military Families.
Kevin Thorne, Chair of the EMAS Armed Forces Staff Network, said:
“I am proud and delighted that EMAS has been awarded the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence. It demonstrates EMAS’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and our support for the defence community and their families.
This is the result of several years’ hard work, collaboration, advocacy and integration with other services by colleagues, including the EMAS Armed Forces Staff Network and our Armed Forces Champions.
I would like to thank everyone who has assisted us on our journey, and look forward to expanding our support for service leavers, veterans, Reservists, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers – both amongst our colleagues at EMAS and within the communities we serve.”
