Our first 14 internally progressed paramedics graduated from Coventry University gaining their Foundation Degree in Paramedic Science (FdSC) on Tuesday 20 November 2018.
In 2016 we joined forces with Coventry University to produce a course in which our current technicians could gain their paramedic degree while continuing their career on our frontline.
The graduates all gained their Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration which enables them to practice as a newly qualified paramedic (NQP).
EMAS has committed to the development of 130 technician to paramedic students with Coventry University.
The NQPs will now continue their career on our frontline, supported by senior paramedics, and will become and integral part of providing outstanding care to patients.
Ashley Knights, Head of Education, said: “I do not underestimate the commitment and volume of work the new graduates had to do for their FdSc degree, and they should rightly be congratulated on this fantastic achievement.
“My recognition also extends to the clinical educators, practice educators, colleagues and family/friends who have supported the graduates on their journey.
