Colleagues from across our Lincolnshire Division were recognised for their long service and outstanding contribution at a ceremony at Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, on Thursday 20 October.
A variety of staff were recognised at the event; including frontline clinicians, station managers, divisional administrators, and retirees. Everyone in attendance have clocked up an incredible 660 years of service between them.
EMAS Chief Executive Richard Henderson, Director of Operations Ben Holdaway and Heads of Operations for Lincolnshire Neil Scott and Alastair Smith presented the awards to the deserving recipients.
This was the first time in three years that the staff in Lincolnshire were able to come together for these awards due to the pandemic. The last event of its kind took place in Louth in November 2019.
Upon opening the event, Richard Henderson said: “Lincolnshire is a county which is close to my heart having started my ambulance career here.
“It’s so fantastic to see some very familiar friends and colleagues who I have personally worked with over the years
“This is very much your event which allows us to say thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to the ambulance service.”

Equally heart-warming and funny anecdotes from over the years were shared throughout the event.
Sue Cousland, Divisional Director for Lincolnshire at EMAS said: “Even though I’ve only been a part of the ‘green family’ for four and a half years, I started with some of you when I was a staff nurse at Grimsby hospital, taking critically ill ventilated patients via ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary.
“I do remember faces from all of those years ago when some of you gave up the front passenger seat for me to sit on for the return journey.
“Lincolnshire is very much a family and it’s nice to see people here today with your families, coming to celebrate what is a tremendous achievement for all of you.”
