A 28-year-old man has been charged with assault following an attack on an ambulance crew.
Michael Lowe, of Lawnwood Avenue, Elkesley, has been charged with assaulting an ambulance technician and another man outside The Idle Valley Tap on Carolgate in Retford.
The ambulance technician, who was part of a crew called to attend a drunken woman, suffered minor facial injuries. Another man, who had tried to help before the ambulance arrived, also suffered minor facial injuries.
Greg Cox, General Manager of Nottinghamshire at East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), said: “I am very sorry and upset that this has happened to our colleague. Our staff work tirelessly to help other people and don’t deserve to be treated in this way. We will work with Nottinghamshire Police to support proceedings.”
As well as being charged with two counts of assault Lowe was also charged with failing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test.
He was released on conditional bail to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 20 July 2017.
This story follows an incident in Leicester where four ambulances were broken into and four lifesaving defibrillators stolen.
