Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and Nottinghamshire Police have relocated their Hucknall bases into the East Midlands Ambulance Station in Hucknall. This is an exciting step forward in collaborative working across all three emergency services in the area.

Following a programme of work, which includes new working areas for Fire and Police and improved shared kitchen, dining and welfare facilities, the crews from the former Police and Fire stations in Hucknall have now settled in.

Greg Cox, General Manager for Nottinghamshire at East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “The move will enable EMAS, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Nottinghamshire Police to work closely together and provide an effective and efficient service to the community of Hucknall and Nottinghamshire.

“All three services frequently work together at the scene of the incidents, so this is clearly a positive move for EMAS and will serve to strengthen our working relationships with our blue light colleagues whilst maintaining our care standards for the community we serve.”

Nottinghamshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Kate Meynell said: "This is a great facility which will ensure all three emergency services can reduce their estate costs whilst remaining in the local neighbourhood.

“This helps us all to protect the frontline whilst promoting joint working which will serve the public well. We have based Neighbourhood, Response and CID resources in the new building too."

Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping added: “This co-location will enable us to deliver even better public services in the area. This is a win for everyone.”

Chief Fire Officer John Buckley said: “We are delighted to see that our crews have settled into their new base in Hucknall alongside colleagues from Nottinghamshire Police and EMAS.

“The new improved facilities are key in helping to drive improvements in how we deliver our services and provide the perfect base for all three organisations to continue supporting their local community.
