A big congratulations is in order for one of our community first responders (CFRs) based in Northampton.
Stacey Price, who responds for North Northants CFRs and is the co-ordinator for her scheme, has been awarded the Exceptional Volunteer Award by the Ambulance Leadership Forum (ALF), following a nomination by the Community Response team.
Stacey, who has been a volunteer with EMAS for over two years, was nominated for her dedication to the scheme and her community.
When she is not responding, she is using her free time to hold free CPR and first aid sessions, visiting local schools and supporting cadets in learning vital lifesaving skills.
She checks local community defibrillators and supports local businesses, who own their own community public access defibrillators (CPADs), and also gives up her time to fundraise for her scheme and neighbouring schemes to buy more equipment.
The Community Response team said: "Stacey is a true example of a valued and dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond within her role as a community first responder for EMAS, and who is exceptionally proud of the service she responds for."
