Huge congratulations are in order for a member of our Quality team who has been recognised with a national award for being ‘outstanding’.

Peter Bainbridge, Head of Quality at East Midlands Ambulance Service has been awarded the ‘Outstanding Service as a Manager’ Award by the Ambulance Leadership Forum (ALF), following a nomination by Keeley Sheldon, Director of Quality and Tim Slater, Deputy Director of Operations.

Peter started his career with Derbyshire Ambulance Service over 30 years ago in 1994 with our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service. Peter worked in a number of roles in the county, including Vocational Driver Attendant (known now as Emergency Care Assistant), Technician, Paramedic, Clinical Support Manager, Senior Manager for Clinical/Locality and Divisional Quality Lead until November 2020 where he joined the central Quality team becoming Head of Quality.

Peter was nominated for the award for being an excellent clinical leader, who is diligent, patient focussed and supportive of staff and colleagues.

Attending the ceremony in Leeds, Peter said: “I have always been interested in Quality and improving care and outcomes for patients which has been a thread through my career.

“It is really nice that the work I have done over the years has been recognised by my colleagues in this way.”
