Community Paramedic Tracy Cunningham has been shortlisted for the national flu fighter champion award for helping vaccinate more than 70% of Derbyshire colleagues against the flu.

Tracy is one of four NHS colleagues who have been shortlisted for the award, which recognises flu teams' efforts and celebrates their commitment to fighting flu.

She was nominated for her refreshing approach in encouraging her colleagues to have their flu jab. She used a series of techniques, mainly a smiley face, to vaccinate 449 colleagues in Derbyshire over the flu season to protect our patients, colleagues, family and friends from the flu. She even took photographs along the way.

The winner will be announced tonight and we send the best of luck to our superstar flu jabber.

This year our flu teams vaccinated 61% of colleagues, and approached more than 90% of colleagues about having the vaccine.
