It is with great disappointment that we have been unsuccessful in our bid to continue providing Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) in Derbyshire beyond April 2025.
The NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board, the commissioners of the service, confirmed that EMED Group has been chosen as the preferred provider following a comprehensive assessment process. There will be no imminent changes to our service and patients. EMAS will continue to provide the usual high standard patient care in Derbyshire until 31 March 2025.
Joy Weldin, Divisional Director of NEPTS, said, “NEPTS is a vital part of the EMAS family. We understand how disappointing this will be for everyone affected and we are doing all we can to support our colleagues during this transition period. We will continue to ensure colleagues and our trade union colleagues are informed on all aspects of the TUPE process over the forthcoming months and EMAS will engage with the HR team at EMED Group on a regular basis to ensure a smooth transition. We will also support them to explore other opportunities within EMAS if they wish.”
“On behalf of EMAS, I’d like to thank our colleagues and volunteers for their ongoing commitment and the excellent service provided to our patients in Derbyshire every day.”
EMAS will work closely with EMED Group and the commissioner over the coming months to ensure a smooth handover with minimum amount of disruption to both staff and patients.
